Obituary: William "Bill" J. Meroney

William "Bill" J. Meroney, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, died Friday, March 7, 2014, with his family by his side.

He is survived by his wife for 46 years, Sandra; children, Daniel Meroney, Cynthia Meroney and Shelby Richardson; siblings James P. Meroney, Jr. Nancy Shimer, Martha Kay Bob and Sandra Wiggen, and their families; and other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James P. Meroney, Sr. and Juanita Thompson Patch. He moved to Southern California in 1965 where he met Sandra Ohnstad and they were married on Feb. 3, 1968. He worked in quality assurance for several companies, retiring from Boeing in 2005.

Family was Bill's top interest and he loved trips to visit family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Creamation has taken place and a memorial service was held on March 13, 2014.
