64th Trail Days kicks off July 30

The 64th Pine Bluffs Trail Days kicks off July 30 this year and ends Aug. 3, giving everyone the opportunity to celebrate the town of Pine Bluffs and the passing of the Texas Trail through town.

The popular event started around 1950 with a free barbecue lunch, drawing in about 2,200 people, which was deemed a “great success.” The “Fourth Annual Trail Days,” held in 1852, drew in even a larger crowd, with more than 3,000 people. Raffle ticket prizes back then were a $500 television set and radios.
