Day before yesterday a perfectly nice lady called us up, and, with tears in her voice, reproved us for not mentioning the fact that she had had a friend visiting her last week.

We told her that she had not let us know anything about it and therefore, we did not know she had a visitor. Then she said, “Well, you should have known. I thought you were running a newspaper.”

Wouldn’t that rattle your slats? Some people think an editor ought to be a cross between Argus and Anna Eva Fay.
