Lois L. McCurry

Lois Luellan (Miles) McCurry, entered into eternal rest on January 5, 2015 at LifeCare Center, Longmont, Co. She was born on Sept. 27, 1924, in a farmhouse near Gurley, Ne., the first of five children born to Ray and Velma Miles.

Lois married John R. McCurry, Jr. on Nov. 9, 1939, in Cheyenne. She spent most of her life living on a wheat farm East of Hereford, Co. where she and John raised their three children. In 2006 Lois moved to Longmont to be near her daughter.

Lois was a member of the Hereford Community Church in Hereford, Co.

Besides being a homemaker, she was an excellent cook and exceptional seamstress. She loved the outdoors, especially working in her garden. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, playing cards, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 1990; son, Bob in 2005; and a brother and sister.

Lois is survived by her son Bill McCurry (Mary) of Grover, Co; daughter, Linda Unrein (Cy) of Longmont, Co; daughter-in-law, Sharon McCurry of Arvada, Co; sisters, Jeanne Bowne of Missoula, Mt. and Marilyn Wiles of Sidney, Ne; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

A private inturnment will take place in Pine Bluffs at a later date.
