Albin News

A light cover of snow reminded us that we never control the thermostat of earth. I doubt you heard many complaining. The moisture was much needed and encouraged to come again but perhaps in the form of rain next time.

Another thing we don't control is death. Sometimes it seems to come early. When a loved one is suffering, it seems to never relieve their pain and prolong ours. Carol Moore passed away and our hearts go out to Bill and her entire family. Stop for a minute and send a card or call with an encouraging word. It is those left behind that feel death long after the last breath.

Controlling our clutter is what we do have. Dixie Malm is helping with that. She has been organizing the town garage sale for some time. It will beheld April 16-18. Call Dixie for more information.

Well, the Easter Bunny finally committed to an appearance in Albin. Come down to the community center Saturday morning with baskets and be ready to hunt those oval goodies. Call the center for more information.

Seven years and nine months ago, a rabbit died and Jillian and Kelly were on their way to hip hopping down the parent trail. Happy birthday to their little daredevil Duggan on April 14.

One of our favorite bus drivers, Shawnae Branigan, is celebrating a birthday along with Travis Lerwick on April 11. Michelle Childers blows out some candles, hopefully on a cake she didn't have to bake for herself, on April 17. Happy Birthday to all!

The town council will discuss a cleanup day for Albin at their meeting April 9 at 7 p.m.

The ghostwriter and I both hope you have a lovely Easter. It is a joyous time meant to renew our hope and faith in something bigger than our sins. And don't forget the chocolate! Happy Easter, everyone.
