Bertha Barrett Sandberg Birthday

Bertha Barrett Sandberg will be celebrating her 95th birthday on Sept. 8.

She attended country schools for six years and graduated from Kimball High School in 1937. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Chadron State College in 1940. Bertha taught high school business at Chugwater for two years, and one year at Holdrege, Ne. She was secretary of the president at Chadron State College for three years.

Bertha married Marvin F. Sandberg on Feb. 24, 1946, and they made their home on a wheat farm near Albin.

She is a member and past secretary of American Legion Auxiliary Boyce Marlatt Unit 77. Her son, Terry Sandberg and wife Joanne, live in Albin, and her daughter, Connie and husband Jim, live in Granbury, Texas. Bertha has four grandchildren.
