SCATTERED RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHEAST WYOMING AND THE WESTERN NEBRASKA PANHANDLE TODAY. PRECIPITATION WILL BE IN THE FORM OF SNOW AT ELEVATIONS ABOVE 6000 FEET... WITH A WINTRY MIX POSSIBLE AS LOW AS 5000 FEET. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL GENERALLY BE LIGHT. HOWEVER... CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE FAVORABLE FOR NARROW BANDS OF HEAVY SNOW WHICH MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY LIGHTNING DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE MOST LIKELY AREA FOR THIS TO OCCUR IS ALONG AND EAST OF THE LARAMIE RANGE... MAINLY TO THE SOUTHWEST OF A LINE FROM DOUGLAS WYOMING TO KIMBALL NEBRASKA. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO PINPOINT EXACTLY WHERE THESE SNOW BANDS WILL SET UP. HOWEVER... THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR HIGHLY LOCALIZED SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF SEVERAL INCHES... ALONG WITH VERY LOW VISIBILITY AND DANGEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS. BE PREPARED FOR THE POTENTIAL FOR RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON.
