Charles W. Binning

Charles W. Binning, 94, of Pine Bluffs, passed away at his home Monday morning, Oct. 26, 2015.

Mr. Binning was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Earlville, Iowa, a son of the late Albert L. and Edythe M. (Hunt) Binning.

Charles served in the United States Army during World War II as a 1st Lt. in the 325th Glider Infantry 82nd Airborne Division. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Pine Bluffs and started Binning's Dairy, and later worked as a rural mail carrier. He was involved in the VFW, the American Legion, Gate City Lodge #32 A.F. and A.M., and the Burns Chapter #47 Order of Eastern Star. He was also active in the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church.

Charles is survived by his three sons, Tom Binning and wife, Naomi, of Englewood, Co., Scott Binning and wife, Kaye, of Cheyenne, and John Binning and wife, Ann, of Cheyenne; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his wife of 30 years, Mearl Binning.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 40 years, Margaret Binning; his parents; a brother, Robert Binning; and a sister, Lucille Reher.

A memorial service with military honors was celebrated on Friday, Oct. 30, at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan DeBruyn officiating. A reception followed at the Schrader Reception Center.

Cremation was under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
