Esther L. Peterson

Esther L. Peterson, 92, passed away at Powell Valley Healthcare in Powell, on Oct. 30, 2015.

Esther was born Feb. 14, 1923, to Conrad and Mary Lebsack. The family moved to the Torrington area in 1931.

Once grown, Esther moved to Cheyenne and worked at the base during World War II. She moved to San Francisco and worked in Union Square. While home visiting, she met the love of her life, Gerald Peterson. They were married on Aug. 15, 1948.

The couple lived in Cheyenne until 1967, when they moved to Albin. Esther would live there for 20 years, until the death of her husband in 1987. In 2012, she moved to Powell, where she remained until her death.

Esther is survived by three children, Randy Peterson, Kevin Peterson and Sherri Rageth. She is also survived by three sisters, Florence Smith, Laverne Ahlbrandt and Shirley Quigley; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald; and her son, Carey Peterson. Esther was also preceded in death by sisters, Marie (Liz) Daigh, Amelia Lebsack, Lorraine Schlager and Lydia (Peggy) Baker; and brothers, Conrad (Emanuel) Lebsack, Leroy Lebsack and Leonard Lebsack.
