Elderly are the target in latest round of scams

Burns branch manager of Wyoming Bank and Trust, Lorna Dunlap, said her bank received notice from the Federal Bureau of Investigations that a new wave of phone scams has hit, and they're targeting the elderly.

“There are reports of scammers requesting that seniors send large-dollar amounts. They're encouraging the elderly to put money into investment accounts,” Dunlap said.

Farmers State Bank Board Chairman John Gross said scammers have always been a problem in the banking industry.
