Jodi Lynn Knuppel went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 2, 2016 in Katy, TX after a brief battle with cancer. She lived her life glorifying God through her actions and the lives she touched. Jodi was born in Greeley, CO on April 12, 1965. She attended school in Colorado and Wyoming. She graduated from Pine Bluffs High School in 1983 and the University of Wyoming in 1987 with a degree in Education.
In Houston, TX, Jodi taught elementary education and became a reading and writing specialist. She retired from Alief School District in May 2016 after 29 years.
Jodi always had a love for books and reading. She enjoyed history, traveling and camping. In her heart, home was always the Rocky Mountains with her favorite being the magnificent Tetons. She desired to return to Wyoming to spend more time with her two nephews, Holden and Dillon.
Jodi is survived by her mother Nina Knuppel of Pine Bluffs, sister Doneen (Terry) Wolf of Worland, nephews Holden and Dillon Wolf, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Knuppel, and grandparents.
A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on Tuesday, July 5 in Sugarland, TX with her friends and co-workers. Jodi was remembered as a leader and outstanding educator. She had a gentle, kind spirit that resonated positivity with co-workers and students.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9th from 1-2 p.m. at the Crossroads Community Church (Pine Bluffs Baptist Church) with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. An interment service will be held at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery.
