Paul Dean Murdoch, 86, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Carpenter, Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the Davis Hospice Center.
Paul was born May 21, 1930, in Elwood, Nebraska, a son of the late Charlie B. and Iva M. (tenBensel) Murdoch.
Paul was drafted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he married Ardyce G. Soneson on January 4, 1959. The following year, the couple moved from the family farm in Nebraska and lived in Carpenter where Paul and his family farmed and ranched. It wasn't until recently that they moved to Cheyenne where they resided at Pointe Frontier.
He will be remembered for the love of his Lord, devotion to farming, and his love of his black cows. He will also be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Paul is survived by his wife, Ardyce Murdoch of Cheyenne; three children, Kirby Murdoch (Theresa) of Carpenter, Kyle Murdoch (Angela) of Burns, and Kari Pace of Aurora, CO; brother, Dale Murdoch (Betty) of Holdrege, NE; two sisters, Maxine Reed of Holdrege, NE, and Cleo Purdy of Mission Viejo, CA; four grandsons, Christopher Pace, Cody Pace, Joel Murdoch and Evan Murdoch; great-grandson, Christian Pace; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Floyd Murdoch.
A memory service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. An interment service will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at the Schrader Reception Center.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
