Annual Touch a Truck and Tractor

On October 14 the parking lot of the Community Center was full of "climbing gear" for youngster and adults alike. The annual "Touch-A-Truck" was alive with people that braved the wind and colder temperatures to take a ride in the High West Bucket.

Jack Bowman was giving rides with his tractor and three seater trailer, the local EMT crew was giving away free ice packs, fire crews were giving out fire truck tattoos, police distributed sucker and badges and the town maintance crew were giving away toy trucks.

High West Energy seemed to be very popular, giving rides high in the sky with the bucket truck.

The volunteers were quit knowledgeable with each of their departments and more than happy to share that knowledge. Centennial Ag contributed a large John Deer sprayer, Freeburg Farms showed off one of their John Deer tractors, Melvin Fornstrum joined in with a Cadet tractor, Jolly Roger RV was giving tours of three separate campers and Don Preston, brought out an antique cab-over semi-truck from Minatare, Nebraska for everyone to look over.

The local chapter of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) was selling cotton candy, just encase you need a "sugar" high before you went up in the air. It was a well-planned out program that showed a lot of pride by all that volunteered.
