A Scary Time in Pine Bluffs

Spooks, goblins, fairies and special characters will soon be circling the town of Pine Bluffs and surrounding areas! Halloween is a favorite time of year for not only children; but a number of local adults as you can see by the decorations around. Part of the enjoyment is to see what the children have decided to pretend to be. It is no longer about throwing a white sheet over you, to be a ghost or donning a witches hat, painting the face green to be Frankenstein or wearing a cowboy hat as well as strapping on the "six-shooters." With the new technology and advertisements you can dress as your favorite cartoon or movie characters. No longer are the days when mothers or fathers spent hours at the sewing machines or in the work shop creating a costume, it is much more convenient and cheaper (if you consider the time spent by the parents) to pick up a costume in stores or on line. How ever you arrive at the Halloween celebration it is sure to bring a smile to someones face and maybe, just maybe a memory of times past!

Some of the upcoming events for Halloween are: Halloween Carnival and Supper, Oct. 31, 5:30 p.m. -7:00 p.m., at the recreation center, Fall Festival, Oct. 29, 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., Donald Eisenhauer American Legion Post 60, Halloween Stories, Oct. 26, 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m., Pine Bluffs Library, Spooky Organ Concert, Oct. 30, 7:00 p.m. United Methodist Church, Halloween Fun, Burns Branch Library, Oct. 28, 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. A number of these events may stay off the "sugar" comma that is usually experienced after Halloween.

As darkness fall take special cautions while driving, as well as walking, to make sure that it is a fun safe night for all!
