Hazel Mae Gensel

Hazel Mae Gensel, 94, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017, at Granite Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Cheyenne.

Hazel was born March 18, 1923, in Pine Bluffs, daughter of Ford and Cora Faye (Rinehart) Marquiss.

As a young adult, Hazel taught elementary students at a small country school. More recently, she enjoyed working as a grocery store clerk. Her many interests included working on puzzles, listening to music, bowling and walking. She also enjoyed being a parishioner at Grace English Lutheran Church and serving as a member of the Ladies Aid.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Terry Van Dorn; son, Larry Peters; step-son, Bob Peters; two brothers, Richard Marquiss and Bob Marquiss; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Gensel; brother, Ford; and sister, LaVeta.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace English Lutheran Church in Pine Bluffs. A private family interment service will follow at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
