Shop with Heroes hits 6th year

The Pine Bluffs Police and Fire Department will be taking 10 children to "Shop with a Heroes" on December 16. The children will receive $100.00 gift cards to spend at the WalMart in Cheyenne.

After shopping the "Heroes" will treat the children to lunch before delivering them back to their homes in Pine Bluffs. Some of the deputies from Laramie County will be helping with the transport of the group.

This is the 6th year that the local law enforcement along with emergency personal have spent the day with these children. The first year, due to limited adults to escort, only 2 children were able to go. The group makes every effort to include all of the siblings, that is, if there are more than one child in a family.

Char Madden who is in charge of this program says donations are more than welcome, and can be submitted to the Laramie County Fire District #5. What child wouldn't want to ride around in a fire truck or police car! This year a group, of anonymous donors, have put together food baskets for the families as well.
