Above left: A grass fire burns bright in the evening sky eleven miles south of Bushnell, Nebraska. According to Klent Schnell, Fire Chief for Bushnell Volunteer Fire Dept., "Approximately 350-400 acres were burned due to a weather instigated fire. We were thankful for the assist from Kimball and Pine Bluffs." Schnell went on to state, "Weather has been dry due to the time of year, and it is such a great team effort with all the fire departments that assisted in ousting the fire." Laramie County Fire District No. 5 Fire Chief, Derek Walls stated, "We responded to assist Bushnell with a large grass fire in their district. I'm happy that we could provide them support as well as being able to maintain staffing and equipment in our own area to maintain protection in our response area."
