Whenever I mention the word "squash" most people I talk to immediately think zucchini and roll their eyes. It's almost like I'd said a dirty word. I think it's because zucchini is so prolific that most of us plant way too much and start looking for ways to get rid of it. I remember planting zucchini in my small garden at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs and, like so many others, I planted far too many plants.
