William Barnes A Veteran Story

In a battle for growing up, the south lost it's battle to the north in the life of Veteran William "Bill" Barnes.

Barnes was born in February of 1950 in the town of Dillon, South Carolina, to Almenia (Rogers) and Leon Barnes. His childhood would change drastically when the family moved to Brooklyn, New York just prior to him turning two years of age.

In Brooklyn, Barnes would go to elementary school, and then attend Franklin K. Lane High School. During his high schools years, he would participate in basketball, and then went on to teen bowling. This would not be a sport that would keep him bus...
