Three Burns High School students had the honor to be chosen for the Dandies. The Cheyenne Frontier Days Dandies were founded in 1970. Arlene Kensinger was the one that started the drill team. The Dandies were formed to serve as goodwill ambassadors for the sport of rodeo and the western way of life. Kensinger had been interested in rodeo since she was teenager. She dallied in trick riding and barrel racing, and even rode at the Brussels World Fair in 1958 and afterwards added trick water skiing to her repertoire.
