People traveled from all over the world to attend the Earl Anderson Memorial Rodeo in Grover, Colorado. This year was a special one in that it was the 100th year of having this rodeo.
The Anderson family started preparing the land in the 1920's. In 1923 the rodeo officially started with only a few events. There was horse racing, bronc riding, calf roping, spud racing, and the musical basket race. At the time there was no fenced in arena. All the events were done on the open prairie. In 1948 the Grover Community Club voted to purchase 20 acres from Mrs Lawson. The asking price was $25 per acre...
