Hornets Place 10th at State

The Hornets track and field team took to the blacktop and headed north to the Wyoming State 2A Track and Field Championship meet last weekend. Eight members of the team qualified for the state meet and did very well. Although there were no state titles won there were seven top eight finishes and the team placed 10th in the meet with 27 points.

Mitchell Birkhofer, last year's shot-put champion missed repeating by just a couple of feet taking the runner-up spot with a put of 44ft 11in. Birkhofer also had another top eight finish with a discus toss of 129ft 2in to claim fifth place and another po...
