Pine Bluffs Roping Club Braves Stormy Skies

The Pine Bluffs Roping Club braved the stormy skies last Friday for their second rodeo of the season. The storms held off for the night with only a little rain that kept the arena dust down. The event had 63 teams to start with and roping got underway a little after seven.

One of the ropers was Brodie Bates out of Burns. Bates has been riding for about five years and enjoys the competition. Bates ropes as a heeler and says, "I enjoy the challenge of trying to get both legs in the lasso." Bates was riding his horse Titan in the event. Bates and Titan have been riding for about five years.
