CHEYENNE, Wyo. — In September, the Wyoming Air National Guard completed a high-profile exercise, Cheyenne Samurai, “exploding” into the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command theater, more than 5,000 miles from their home station. Delivering 15,000 pounds of cargo, the multi-role mission crossed 15 time zones, each way, stopping only for fuel and aircrew changes.
This mission builds upon the foundation of previous Air Mobility Command endurance operations, demonstrating the value of C-130Hs in the USINDOPACOM theater and reinforcing the Cowboy Guard’s role as the sword and shield of Wyoming and the nation....
